Uni-Panelized
Construction System (UPCS)
Advanced Housing Technology
Committed to better sheltering mankind.
Current home-building methods are based on concepts of stick-framing invented in the 1830s. The Uni-Panelized Construction System (UPCS) brings home building technology into the 21st century with the first of its kind, Class III panelized housing technology.
Bringing Home-Building Technology into a New Era

UPCS Applications
The UPCS structure is easily assembled on-site by semi-skilled laborers.
RAPID & SIMPLE ON-SITE DELIVERY
Panels are precisely engineered to create a superior structure.
BUILDING STRONGER STRUCTURES
Additional panels can be added or removed at any time, creating a structure that can "grow" with a family while building equity.
MORE SCALABLE DESIGN OPTIONS
The universal panel design allows for hyper-efficient manufacturing at production levels never before possible.
HYPER-EFFICIENT MANUFACTURING
Oregonized Builders' first proven Class III Panelized design prototype, called the Interlocking Construction System (ICS) was manufactured and tested with funds from two USDA Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) grants. Click here for more information.
Structural testing on ICS walls showed they could withstand more than twice the shear force than a conventionally built wall. In fact, the ICS walls were so strong that the testing equipment was unable to cause a failure.

What is a Class III Panelized System?
In the June 1, 1995 study “Structural Implications of Increased Panel Use in Wood-Frame Buildings” by Leonard J. Morse-Fortier, panelized systems were categorized into progressive “classes” based on how structurally integrated the panels are within the building system.
-
Class I: Basic wall panels that replicate stick framing off-site.
-
Class II: Larger panel assemblies that increase factory integration but still rely on traditional framing concepts.
-
Class III: A fully integrated structural panel system where standardized panels function as primary load-bearing elements and incorporate structural connections as part of the design.
Oregonized Builders' ICS/UPCS is the only known Class III panelized system currently available.
NOTE: In this context, Class III refers to the level of structural integration and system innovation within wood-frame construction. This is not to be confused with Type III construction (sometimes called “Class III” informally), which refers to how a building is classified for fire and material code compliance.
